Banks Stubbs & McFarland Takes Commitment to “Restoring Lives” Beyond the Courtroom

Forsyth County-Based Law Firm Recently Took Part in Two Local Charity Events

The skilled attorneys at Banks, Stubbs & McFarland (BSM) are committed to restoring lives – both in and outside of the courtroom. While most of our days are focused on family law, personal injury, criminal defense and DUI cases, our partners are equally dedicated to giving back to the community that surrounds our Cumming law firm. From book collection drives to benefit the underprivileged children of Habersham County’s Cornelia Elementary School during the holidays to our service on the boards of some of North Georgia’s most impactful nonprofits, the BSM team is always on the lookout for new ways to show our support to those in need. Recently, we were thrilled to take part in not just one, but TWO incredible community events to benefit two very worthy causes.

Blues & Q to Benefit the Forsyth County Community Connection

Banks, Stubbs & McFarland was honored to play a role in Blues & Q – one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the Forsyth County Community Connection (FCCC). Hosted in August at Kinsey Family Farm in Gainesville, the event involved an evening of BBQ, music and fellowship to strengthen children and families in Forsyth County. Our firm sponsored the bar at Blues & Q, and dinner was catered by Jim ‘N Nicks BBQ. All proceeds benefited Forsyth County Community Connection – which makes foster children a priority, while endeavoring to support the loving homes already present within the community. FCCC’s mission is to identify gaps in services for families in need through collaborations with Forsyth County community members – from families, faith communities, civic organizations and schools to human services agencies, local businesses and both city and county governments. The overarching goal is to grow healthy children and families while reducing the burden on the State to handle the consequences of issues like homelessness, child sex trafficking, lack of educational foundations, and the like. Banks, Stubbs & McFarland is always proud to come alongside organizations like the FCCC. So much so that our partner, Jacob Stidham, has served on the FCCC’s board of directors as well as its executive board.

United Way Day of Caring

Although United Way reflects a global nonprofit organization with a mission to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good, its local affiliate – United Way of Forsyth County – is bringing that goal closer to home. In September, Banks, Stubbs & McFarland was proud to take part in the United Way Day of Caring – United Way of Forsyth County's single largest volunteer day, bringing the community together to give back year after year. For this year’s Day of Caring, BSM team members joined other compassionate community members for a food packaging event at Forsyth Conference Center. It was incredibly powerful to know that the food we were packaging will go to families at risk for food insecurity.

Restoring Lives Together

We love how Forsyth County Community Connection and United Way of Forsyth County align so beautifully with our own mission of restoring lives. Other charities Banks, Stubbs & McFarland is proud to support throughout the year include Promise 686, Perimeter School, Bert’s Big Adventure, Red Cross, The Place of Forsyth County and 4Streams Partners Men’s Ministry – among others. If you are involved with a Forsyth County or North Georgia nonprofit that is also focused on restoring lives and you believe Banks, Stubbs & McFarland might prove a good community partner, we invite you to reach out to us at 770-887-1209.
