A Dedication to Community Support
Since 1991, the law firm of Banks, Stubbs & McFarland, LLP, has represented clients in the Cumming area and throughout Forsyth County. Our team helps people as a result of accidents and serious injuries, when they are facing criminal charges, when they are getting divorced, for adoptions, and much more. Our mission is to restore lives shattered by arrest, injury, and divorce. We are here to serve the people of Cumming in their time of need.
If you hire our firm, we want you to know that we give back to our community. We donate each year to community organizations that also help broken people get their lives restored. Below are some of the organizations that we are proud to support.
Our attorneys are also deeply involved in the community as well. For instance, personal injury lawyer and partner Parker McFarland is on the Board of Directors for North Forsyth Rotary Club. Parker has been serving as the attorney coach for the South Forsyth Mock Trial program since 2009. Criminal defense attorney Lindsey McCain also helps with mock trial. Partner Jacob Stidham served on the Board of Directors and as President of Forsyth County Community Connection for several years. Attorney Rafe Banks III is a longtime member of the Cumming Rotary Club, among other associations.
With the community trusting our legal team for decades with their high-stakes legal matters, we are happy to have the opportunity and ability to give back. Our objective is to further our mission of restoring lives in the community - both in and out of the courtroom, and we are proud to do our part to have a healthier, happier, and safer community in Cumming.
Another successful United Way of Forsyth County (Georgia) Day of Caring in the books! Our team had a great time serving and this year, we packaged 5,500 meals to help those in need.
In partnership with Meals of Hope, volunteers prepared 140,000 dried, non-perishable meals. Plus, 2,000 Snacks on the Go bags to be distributed in our school system. The Banks, Stubbs & McFarland team sponsored 2,800 meals!
We're proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative and to give back to our community.
We helped the United Way Day of Caring for Forsyth County. The Day of Caring is Forsyth County's single largest volunteer day. We are so thankful to be able to participate in this amazing event.
We proudly serve as an underwriter for Victory 91.5 radio, a prominent Christian radio station broadcasting across all 50 states and 218 countries. You can find our information here or listen on their main page by simply clicking on "Listen Now". We have two recordings daily during the work week - once during the morning drive and once during the evening drive.
Our charitable giving was over $50,000 last year and we have committed to give that amount annually.
In September 2022, we will help the United Way Day of Caring for Forsyth County. The Day of Caring is Forsyth County's single largest volunteer day. We are so thankful to be able to participate in this amazing event.

Cornelia Elementary is an under-privileged school in Habersham County, GA. We were asking one of the teachers for advice on what books to purchase for kids this year for Christmas and she said the kids love the Elephant & Piggie books. She went on to say her class loves the books, but the school could not afford to have the series. With the funds we set aside to “pay it forward”, we purchased the series for her classroom. This way each consecutive class she has will be able to have the books and she can share with the other classrooms when her class is finished reading them this year. Our firm is fortunate and grateful to be able to donate books to children during the holiday season.
We donated $5,000 to Four Streams Partners, which is a men’s ministry organization whose mission it is to awaken men to more life through a transformational relationship with Jesus Christ. The four streams include walking with God, deep healing and restoration, receiving God’s intimate counsel, and spiritual warfare. Our firm is proud to be a titanium sponsor of this incredible men’s ministry. Are you searching for a life changing charitable giving opportunity? This is it. We have personally been awakened and transformed as a result of this ministry.
Our firm donated $5,000 this year to this organization. Promise 686’s goal is to see every child in a safe, and loving family. Their vision is to fulfill God’s promise “to set the lonely in families.” We work toward this goal by mobilizing church communities to care for vulnerable children. Promise 686 equips churches to: raise awareness around the needs of vulnerable children, help prevent children from going into foster care by supporting biological families in need, recruits and equips foster and adoptive families, and creates care communities for those caring for at-risk children.
We donated $2,500 to the annual Blues and Q fundraiser for Forsyth County Community Connection. FCCC is a collaborative organization that connects agencies, companies, and individuals to work together for the betterment and protection of children. They have initiatives regarding foster care and child sex trafficking education and prevention.
Our firm donated $5,000 to The Place of Forsyth County, which assists people throughout Forsyth County in various ways. The Place provides emergency financial assistance, food, and clothing to community members, as well as a workforce development program that helps unemployed or underemployed individuals find work. The organization also works with Focus on Forsyth, which provides assistance to households in need that are referred from senior centers and schools.
In September 2021, we helped with the 20th Annual United Way Day of Caring for Forsyth County where we partnered to package food for the needy in our community. The Day of Caring is Forsyth County's single largest volunteer day. We are so thankful to be able to participate in this amazing event. Read more about our core values below and why our firm participates in these community events.
Our firm recently got to help with the charity fundraiser Blues & Q’s, an evening of BBQ, music and community coming together to strengthen children and families in Forsyth Country. Banks, Stubbs and McFarland sponsored the bar at this event and all proceeds benefited Forsyth County Community Connection. We are always proud to come alongside an organization like the FCCC whose mission is focused on growing healthy children and families and reducing the burden on the State to handle the consequences of issues like homelessness, child sex trafficking, lack of educational foundations, and other similar issues. FCCC seeks to identify gaps in services for families in need through collaboration amongst community members within Forsyth County. Our own partner Jacob Stidham has served on the board of directors as well as the executive board!
